Is there a live webcam of the Kootenay Lake ferry?

Yes. DriveBC keeps cameras at both the Balfour ferry terminal and the Kootenay Bay landing, shown in the ferry sections above and credited to DriveBC.ca on every image.

Why does a camera show an old picture?

Every camera picture on this page is fingerprinted each time the feeds are read, and when the same picture repeats for 2 hours its caption says so. After 24 hours with no new picture the camera is hidden and named in the stale list below instead of shown as if it were live.

Can I watch a webcam that isn't from DriveBC?

Yes, four cameras around the lake are run by other operators, and this page links out to each rather than showing their picture directly. See the link-out cards below for Creston Valley Cameras, the East Shore Internet Society, Gray Creek Store and a Nelson-area page whose operator this site has not confirmed.
